What this is

AI Citizen Guide is an independent publication about how artificial intelligence systems affect ordinary decisions — at work, in education, in healthcare, and in dealings with the state. The material explains mechanisms rather than predicting the future, and is written for people without a technical background.

Who writes it

The site is written and edited by Artem Ivanets, a senior business analyst with more than sixteen years spent specifying how large software systems should behave. Most of that has been in enterprise commerce: SAP Commerce, vendor and marketplace platforms, payments, order management, and the integrations that hold them together.

That work turns out to be largely the same set of questions this publication asks of AI. Where is this decision actually made? What happens in the cases nobody planned for? Who is accountable when the system is wrong? What does the person on the other side of the screen actually see? He also leads and mentors other analysts, and works hands-on with Python, automation, and data analysis outside that role.

He writes in English and Ukrainian and has spent his career in international distributed teams. He is not an AI researcher, and this site does not claim otherwise — its value is in reading systems carefully and explaining plainly how they work. Every piece carries a byline, so you always know who is accountable for the claims you are reading.

Our standards

A publication about verifying claims is obliged to meet the standard it teaches. These are the rules the material is held to:

• Facts, interpretation, prediction, and advice are labelled separately rather than blended together.
• Consequential claims carry primary sources you can open and check yourself.
• Uncertainty is stated plainly. We would rather write “this is not known” than fill a gap with a confident guess.
• The strongest opposing argument is presented fairly, not in a form that is convenient to dismiss.
• Material is dated, because context around AI changes quickly.

Independence

This publication has no advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate arrangements. No company named in the material has paid for that mention or reviewed the text before publication. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page before the affected material appears.

Corrections

Errors happen. If you find one, write to us and we will check it and correct it. Material corrections are marked on the piece itself rather than made silently.
